Upgrading during your trial is the fastest way to expand your portfolio — and your trial QR code carries over automatically.
You don't have to wait until Day 8. If you're already using your trial code on a live listing and need capacity for more properties, you can upgrade to a paid plan right from the shop — your existing code transfers with no interruption to its dynamic link or scan history.
When upgrading early makes sense
The trial gives you one QR code. That's enough to evaluate the product thoroughly. But if you find yourself mid-trial and wanting to:
- Add codes for additional listings
- Manage multiple properties under one account
- Access plan features not available on the trial
…upgrading before Day 8 is the right move. You pay only from the day you upgrade — on a prorated basis — so you're not starting a fresh billing cycle from scratch.
How to upgrade
- Go to the Shop and browse or select additional designs.
- When you open the Selection View, you'll see a plan recommendation based on how many codes you're selecting.
- Review the upgrade notice — it will confirm that your trial code carries over.
- Proceed to checkout. You'll see the charge for today clearly stated before you confirm.
- After payment, your new plan is active immediately. Your trial is closed and your code is linked to the paid plan — no manual steps required.
The backend handles the transition atomically: your trial QR code is linked to the new plan first, then the trial Stripe subscription is cancelled. There is no window where your code is unassigned.
What carries over — and what doesn't
| Carries over | |
|---|---|
| Your trial QR code and its design | ✅ Yes |
| The dynamic link and configured destination | ✅ Yes |
| Scan history and analytics | ✅ Yes |
| Your trial period days | ❌ No — the upgrade replaces the trial |
Once you upgrade, the trial is considered converted. You'll be billed monthly from the upgrade date forward.
A note on proration
When you upgrade mid-trial, the amount you see at checkout reflects prorated billing — calculated based on where you are in the billing cycle relative to the plan you're moving to. The checkout screen will show you the exact figure before you confirm. We keep it transparent so there are no surprises on your statement.
Frequently asked questions
Will my QR code look different or be reassigned after I upgrade?
No. The same code, same design, same dynamic link — just now under a paid plan with additional capacity. Your printed materials and shared links continue working without any interruption.
What plan should I upgrade to?
The Selection View recommends the plan that fits your current selection. In general: Starter covers 1 code, Atelier covers 5, Studio covers 12. Our pricing page has the full breakdown.
What if I wait until Day 8 instead?
If you let the trial expire naturally, Stripe activates your Starter plan at Day 8. Your trial code carries over in the same way. The only difference is that you'll start on Starter specifically — if you want a higher tier from the outset, upgrading proactively lets you choose.
Can I downgrade after upgrading?
Yes. Paid plan downgrades can be scheduled from your Dashboard to take effect at the end of your billing period. Read about cancelling a paid plan →
