I came to QR codes the way most engineers come to beautiful problems — with genuine respect for the elegance hidden inside them. A QR code is a Reed-Solomon corrected matrix. It is mathematically resilient. It was always meant to be a bridge.
But I couldn't ignore the dissonance. That same elegant grid, stamped across the world without care — on luxury listings, bottle caps, government forms — had become a symbol of cold efficiency. A mark of systems placed over humans, not at their service.
As an engineer in applied mathematics, I could see the problem clearly. As a builder, I could do something about it.
